The Leather Collection explores our uncompromising approach to design in the most natural leathers available – the Full-Grain leather.

Full-grain leather is the most natural leather, the top grain of the hide, and has a character all its own, often displaying natural markings that lend beauty and refinement to the patina of this top quality material.

The collection features select understated styles handcrafted in one of our three custom developed full-grain leather qualities: Textured, Smooth or Bridle leather.

The full-grain leather we use is custom developed for Mismo using only the finest quality natural hides. Whether brand-new or lovingly used for years, a Mismo leather bag will always be distinctive and unique.

Textured Full-Grain Leather

Soft and richly textured, this full-grain leather has been shrunk during its natural tanning process to accentuate the original veins of the hide. The Textured Full-Grain Leather pays homage to the art of tanning, as well as saluting the craft infused heritage of true leather artistry. All styles feature bridle leather trimmings and sturdy brass closures, adding onto the leather’s singular look and feel. Each piece carries a personal signature of durable elegance.

Smooth Full-Grain Leather

Launched in 2006, the Smooth Full-Grain leather was developed with the desire to create a range of personal luxury bags & accessories with a sense of sophistication and raw elegance. The leather is vegetable tanned, using only the finest hides and subjected to a minimum of chemical processes to leave it smooth and natural in look and feel. Over time, the leather will develop a rich and lustrous patina.

BRIDLE LEATHER

Originally designed for use in bridles, the bridle leather must be both strong and durable, required to last for 10 or more years of use in any weather condition. Principally used as main trimmings for the Fabric Collection, the bridle leather used in Mismo products is custom-developed in Turkey. It is simply the best leather available for our purposes. Once the skin has been tanned, a colour & protective finish to our own exact specifications is applied for a smoother, deeper and more refined look.
