The Legacy Collection

SS16 lookbook shoot Mismo

We all have a few treasured products at home, which have been part of our lives for long and never seem to go out of season nor style. A product that grows with you the more you wear it, that has proven to be a trusted companion through travels and life’s’ special occasions. With our 10 years in business, we’d be blessed if one of these products might be a Mismo canvas bag.

The cotton canvas bags gained us our very first global attention when launched in 2008 and is not only amongst of our most popular styles but also truly dear to our heart for this reason. Back then we were not aware that these styles would become much more than seasonal. Yet today they have proven to become a strong part of our identity, combining classic design virtues with modern functionality while adding an unbeatable, individual patina over time.

There is something special about a cotton canvas bag. It yells tactility and sartorial elegance and is a blank canvas on which future travels and memories will be told. With the Legacy Collection we have set the scene for a line of canvas bags that will be a dapper companion as you navigate through life, whether casually dressed for urban exploration or for adventures at remote retreats in nature’s great outdoors.

This Spring/Summer sees the collection shaped up by three exquisite and individually unique cotton canvas fabrics:

Deep Navy Twill/Cuoio
A new addition for the Spring/Summer 2017 season is the Deep Navy Twill. The material is a traditional twill weave with heavy diagonal lines. The twill weave adds strength and flexibility to the canvas while lending it a striking tactility.

The deep blue colour is paired with the warm, tanned cuoio leather together with golden brass accessories. It yells tactility and sartorial elegance and is a most welcomed treat to the collection.

The Legacy Collection revolves around natural materials that age with beauty. The Deep Navy Twill fits well into this idea with a composition of a 91% cotton canvas and 9% PU (polyurethane) made up by an anti-fray backing and our water repellent surface treatment. It’s an article that will develop in usage and show the passage of time through an individual patina. For a more detailed look into the Deep Navy Twill read here.

Waxed Blues/Cuoio
At only 400 grams per running meter, the Waxed Blues fabric comes in at the lightest end of the weight scale for the SS17 fabrics. It’s a waxed chambray cotton canvas with a distinct jeans appeal and breezy summery feel to it. Paired with cuoio bridle leather and solid brass accessories the Waxed Blues is a destined for summer exploring. Lined with either navy cotton lining or itself (double layered) on styles where a little more hold is needed. The fabric is perfectly adopted in a few of the new “lightweight” styles for the season such as the M/S Escape backpack or the tote bag M/S Haven.

Army/Cuoio
The structured Army canvas ooze quality and timelessness. It’s been a mainstay of the collection ever since we introduced the first bags combining fabric and leather back in 2008. The refined, structured cotton canvas evokes English aristocracy and wildlife hunting, and in combination with the tanned cuoio bridle leather it will create a luxurious patina over time. Casual yet sophisticated, the army cotton canvas with its earthy tones of grey, green and brown is a true wardrobe staple.

It has a water repellence coating to the front side that will prevent immediate stains of water to sink into the fabric. At 837 gram per running meter it’s a solid canvas that can be trusted for years to come.
